The reason why I painted "Martyr on a Silver Platter" is to raise awareness about the Christian persecution that's been happening across the world, especially in Nigeria. The leaders and the mainstream media are silent about it; therefore, it is not talked about enough, not taken seriously, and no aid is being provided. 
 
My heart sinks for those who are kidnapped and killed for their faith in Jesus. Many of them were killed in their sleep in their own homes. Even babies are tortured. My heart aches for those whose villages are burnt and churches destroyed while they are worshipping inside. Beheaded bodies were r*ped and then thrown in the streets. These are my brothers and sisters in Christ. Even if I know that their souls are now in a better place, let us continue to pray for them and their families needing comfort right now.

If this painting was too much to bear, imagine the real scenes they have witnessed with their own eyes and the bodies that actually experienced such torture. Realize how privileged we are that we can peacefully read the Bible anywhere, freely worship God, and identify with him out loud without thinking of being persecuted or killed. We can use our platform, voices, and talents to evangelize and preach the Gospel. Let us continue to pray and keep the body of Christ standing strong. Do not be afraid.
